Curb and gutter systems are the backbone of drainage and traffic management for roads, parking lots, commercial developments, and residential communities. In Arizona, where monsoon season delivers intense short-duration rainfall across hardscape-heavy urban environments, properly designed and installed curb and gutter systems are the difference between functional drainage and flood damage.
Ares & Eros Contracting installs curb and gutter for residential subdivisions, commercial parking lots, industrial facilities, and municipal road construction across the Greater Phoenix metro area. Our work is built to city and county specifications, with the military-grade precision and documentation that GCs and municipalities require.

Precision-formed, correctly sloped, built to last. Curb and gutter is infrastructure — we treat it that way.

Arizona's monsoon season generates some of the highest short-duration rainfall intensities in North America. Curb and gutter systems in Arizona must be designed to handle these events without failure:
• Gutter slope: minimum 0.5% longitudinal slope is required to prevent standing water. Many Arizona projects exceed this minimum due to drainage intensity during monsoon events.
• Inlet spacing: in commercial and municipal applications, catch basins must be spaced to handle 10-year storm events without overflowing curb height. We coordinate inlet locations with civil drainage plans.
• ADOT profiles: Arizona projects typically use ADOT standard curb profiles (Type A vertical curb, Type B rolled curb, and combination curb and gutter). We work from project-specific details where custom profiles are required.
• Heat and joint spacing: exposed curb runs are subject to the same thermal movement as other concrete. Expansion joints at correct intervals prevent blowouts during extreme heat.
• Subgrade under curb: curb and gutter sits on sub-base, not just native soil. Adequate compaction and base thickness under the curb are critical for long-term settlement resistance.
OUR PROCESS
We run every curb & gutter installation project with the same discipline and sequencing we learned in the military. No improvisation. No shortcuts. Every step serves the mission.
We review civil drawings and establish alignment, elevations, and inlet locations. String line set for consistent grade.
Trench or prepared bed compacted to correct bearing capacity. Grade verified for drainage slope.
Curb forms set to exact profile dimensions and grade. Inlet boxes located and formed.
Concrete placed, consolidated, and finished to profile. Jointing at correct intervals.
Curing compound applied. Forms stripped at appropriate time. Backfill compacted against curb without disturbing alignment.
Final elevation check. As-built documentation provided for municipal projects.
Curb and gutter pricing is typically quoted by linear foot. Pricing varies by profile type, access, and project conditions:
